    Folder Background in windows 7 7000?


    Hello,can some tell me how to do a background for folder?The hack for vista is not working for 7,hope someone here will guide me.

    I tried the AveFolder thing and although everything seems to go through OK, and you get the dialogue, when you apply the image nothing happens. Tried installing the VS x64 runtimes but that didn't help either

    i'm not in 7 yet, but i'm going to change my os to 7, so i search info for this feature (desktop.ini) that worked in my xp so it can worked in 7 too

    It might be possible to do this in the retail version of W7, as you'll be able to elect not to install IE8 at all (well...) and so the dll-handling which prevents this feature from running might become circumventable.

    OK - you can do it in Windowblinds 7, but not on a folder-by-folder basis. That is, you can use an Explorer background which will stay the same for all folders. On the other hand, you can vary the transparency of the Explorer window, which can give quite nice results if you don't go overboard (you can go all the way down to completely transparent, which may make for a good screenshot but doesn't really work when you actually want to do something). So far, this is the only way I've found to do this for Win 7. Windowblinds cost me £13 (about $19) so it won't break the bank, even if you do only want it for this effect.
