Making Files that are Opening Take Focus

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

When I open some types of files, such as image files (e.g. jpeg, gif), they appear in the taskbar and blinks there, telling me that it is open. However, I would like all files that I open to take focus and show up right away, instead of having me click on the item in the taskbar to view it. How do I go about doing this?

This seems like a very easy task, but I have not been able to find a way to achieve this. Thanks.

Hi,

I have the same issue (Win 7 Pro, 64bit but I've seen it on other versions).
There are lots of programs that do not take focus / appear in the foreground when you start them. Often the behavoiur is inconsistent, even for the same program.
Sometimes I've thought a program has failed to launch, the only clue it has is an icon in the taskbar. Its very frustrating, and I think its a big deal for an O/S that's made a big selling point of its desktop functionality.
Is it a bug, is there a fix?
Thanks.
