Nick, how many icons are we talking about?

if it's only a few Mr Grim has a full set of the default icons for Windows 7 in his customisation thread.

I've noticed that if you pin an icon to the task bar and change the icon used there it changes the one used by the .EXE.

to change the icon of a pinned item right click on the pinned icon and then right click on the program name in the jump list and choose propertiies then change icon. You need to refresh after you make the change - sometimes more than once

Hi Shaun. It seems to be the live icons that weren't restored.

I havent pinned anything with customised icons to the taskbar.

Interestingly Ive just created a new icon on the desktop and its the windows default one. So sounds like its a cache issue?

Uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows Live Essentials programs should be able to restore them.

I dont mean Live! I mean live folders. Folders that update themselves with images from its contents.

Nick, have you tried right clicking on the folder and using the customize tab - should be a Restore Default Button - not available if you go in via libraries

    LOL, ah ok.

The easiest way to fix this without losing anything would probably be to do a repair install.
