Windows 7: getting rid of white glow on the taskbar

hi All

How do i get rid of the white glow that is on the task bar. I am finding it to hard to see my files. i have it set not to group and like to just hit the application that i need. The white glow is doing my eyes in.

i reducing the transparency but the white glow is still there

Please post a screenshot so we know what you are talking about.

I think he means when a program is open like this and glows and it hurts his eyes. Changing the wallpaper might help. "MIGHT" it works for me i change it to a wallpaper that makes it less bright

changed the screen saver to black-really bad with someting else behind. will do a screen save in a min

no use screen snapping as it appears clearer( doesn't pick up the shadow) . they all look white with white text. which is to hard too read in day light- sitting in dark now, they are kind of ok.

it is the white shadow that appears when you click the tab or by nature it sits on the top right hand corner of each program on the taskbar- white text and white shadow is just so wrong can't see the program i need to go to in a hurry - aero works fine but when i am only running one of this program why aero... It was not like this in vista

do i need to go back to vista (Vista has a faster start up)

You could try setting the color intensity to lowest which is on the left side. It makes it clear. It still wont get rid the glow that your talking about when you click on it though.

You can try this to change it to look like how windows vista did if you like it that way.
