How do I stop Video Web Camera?

How do I stop the "Video Web Camera" from launching in Windows 7? I don't want it and it keeps getting in the way when I mouse near it. (I know I can close it, but I don't want to do that every time I reboot.)

    Hello Elof69,

    Welcome to 7 Forums.

Type msconfig in the start menu search bar, hit enter, yes at the prompt if you get one. Click on the startup tab and see if it is listed. If so uncheck it and click apply. Not sure if you need to check the box on the boot tab to make setting permanent is necessary or not, but won't hurt. Don't worry you can still change things back if you want. Reboot and see if that does it.

    Hope this helps.

    NO idea what it's called

That looks promising. Any idea what it's called? When I sort by manufacturer, I only have the operating system from Microsoft. If I look under services, I have a huge list and cannot identify which it may be.

Sorry, no I don't. Only thing I can suggest is to look through the descriptions for services and see if there is a hint. Also, I have noticed that some things are in the task scheduler. For me the sound system has a task to start with any user logon. I don't have a web cam so can't help with specifics. If you find something, please post it back.

    Chicony traybar

The startup item for the video web camera is chicony traybar, the manufacturer is Chicony. What an annoying little program indeed.
