    wmploc.dll version error

As you can see by the title, I am having this error. Of course I am trying to apply a custom skin from Deviantart. I have done all the fixes with command prompt,(unregmp2.exe /updatewmpversion regsvr32 wmp.dll). I have also resource hacked everything I can find with the version number and changed them to the one I need. Both wmploc.dll's, wmp.exe, wmpshare.exe from 18840 to 17514. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? Or am I doomed to use the default skin of WMP?

i also found that some old customization guides from 2010-2012 years not working now, may be because of SP1, i dont know, but as example i cannot change background image for start menu using old guides, so everything needs to be done again (

Something must have been updated, because the theme I wanted to apply was meant for SP1. So a windows update at some point must have patched it. I have tried everything I can find on the net, and nothing works. I corrupted WMP so bad, I had to do a system restore.

by the way, just keep original copy of modified files. if you broke something, just reboot with liveCD USB and replace modified files back to original, then reboot normally. no need any restoration
