Can't use 3rd party themes on Intel NUC

I hope somebody can help me.

I just recently put together a new HTPC using an Intel NUC (5i5 RYK, with Core i5 processor and integrated graphics with latest driver). It's running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I patched the 3 DLLs so I could install my favorite theme, bit it won't run it.

It will use any of the Windows themes furnished with the OS, and also the ones I could DL from MS. Also, Aero is working. But when I choose one of my custom themes, it either does nothing or switches to the very basic non-Aero classic theme.

I've been using this custom theme on other machines (Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and also Win 7 Pro 64 bit) for years and I know I've installed the theme files correctly in C:Windows\Resources.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Do Option 2 of this tutorial SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have. You may need to do this up to 3 times with a reboot after each scan.

Then repatch do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.

    Thanks Jerry, but no luck.

SFC found and fixed the 3 files that had already been pitched, and after a reboot and another scan which turned up nothing I installed the service as requested. Absolutely no change in Windows behavior.

I've been customizing Windows for many years and have always used the universal patcher which modifies the 3 DLLs which control theme access. I've never had this problem.

As an aside, SFC /scannow is a powerful tool, but for people who customize Windows including modding system files, it can quickly undo hours of work. You might want to mention that to folks, just in case.
