How to add an entry to the All Programs in Start menu

I installed SnapShot Disk image back up program but it didn't create an entry in Start Menu. when i double click the .exe file it works.
Where is the folder for the Start Menu? i want to make an entry myself.
I looked in the Windows directory and didn't find it. i didn't search thoroughly though

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Did you look at the All Programs list for the program ?
You can also use send to Desktop (create shortcut) if the option LBB suggested does not exist,

Then drag that desktop shortcut to the Start button and wait for the start menu to popup (do not drop yet)
Drag it over the start menu list and see if it says pin or add to start menu
If not,
Then drag over All Programs (if it didn't already exist in a folder)
Then drag it onto the list of programs until you see (a horizontal line between existing program listings) and drop.
