Windows 7: Win Explorer Background Change

On the picture is indicated what is needed to change the color
pic.1 explorer white color to what U wish
pic.2 addresses of various colors in normal.res
pic.3 complete basic & aero theme recolored (taskbar is not 1x3px but 1920x46px
so if U grab this theme and have problems replace 841.png (basic) 845.png (aero) _Ur resolution_X46px

is for Windows 7 ultimate x64 7600

i see you can change the explorer background by editing the aore.msstyles. i have
also the restorator 2007 program pro. i try the modification like you, but i can´t find the string E130:FC FC FC ... to change it in my favorit- color. i have to say, that am not so firm in restorator and programming. where can i find the string in the search section, i think?? i think i do the modification in the editing mode?? there are a lot of radio-buttons and options in the search form i don´t now. i want to set my explorer background color to 8D948B. (for exampel)

please can you help me with a little tutorial.

I think that u need
this program to edit a hex file without exporting it (secure way)
is the same as restorator but has better editing stuff

when opening a aero file select *.*all files at the bottom

Save is disabled but go to save as and overwrite the aero file
works with both version x86 & x64 win

in the first picture you can see what lines to edit and all of them contain FC FC FC

Another question for Six9siX. I'm looking to change the default background color for dialog boxes - like the "Virtual Memory" box in your screenshot. Can you tell me the right offset please?

That's the thing. It is F0 F0 F0 and I want it D4 D4 D4. I noticed in the screenshot that it is darker than the default, that's why I'm asking how to do the same

You need to do some Hex-Editing to the msstyles....
Extract the variant file using Restorator and use any Hex-Editor of you choice to open the extracted file.....

Type Ctrl +G go to address 748 you should be able to see F0 F0 F0 the default color, change that to any color of your choice... for your case D4 D4 D4.


Replace that mod file back and enjoy the new color..........
