Make Win 7 show thumbnails and details for more video file types?

For example, for MKV videos Windows 7 shows no more information than it does for text files. I'd like to have thumbnails and data like duration, pixel dimensions, video and audio bitrate etc. as it shows for other types.

For thumbnail previews in Explorer you can use Media Preview: BabelSoft / ????

Configuration - see: Where are the Most Recently Used Lists?

For more details on video you could use MediaInfo: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

Personally I use MediaInfo features that are already built into PotPlayer and Vee-Hive.

For details in Explorer you could use Icaros Portable: Icaros 2.3.0 / 3.0.0 RC4 - Download

Personally I would only enable "Properties" and not "Thumbnailing" as Media Preview handles thumbnailing way better.

The portable version allows you to enable/ disable Icaros easily without needing to install anything.

I want to have thumbnails for only some file types...
How would I go about this? I dislike having thumbnail previews of certain file types like video's. But I want my Jpgs, gifs, png's and such, basicly pictures to have Thumbnail previews still. Thats all. The only option Seven gives me is all or none.
