(Solved) Win7 -- Change Desktop to white background with black font

I like my Desktop to be white with clean and legible black font.....but Win7 wouldn't let me do that. So here's how I made it do it:

Note: I think I started out this process with the High Contrast #1 background theme loaded….so maybe you should also start out with that theme before following the instructions below.

1. Type “visual effects” into the search bar (upper right of screen) at the Control Panel.
1a. On the page which appears, click on the link to “Adjust the Appearance and Performance of Windows.” Towards the bottom of the dropdown list on this page, UNCHECK “Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop”

2. Take any existing Windows theme (located at: “C:/Windows/Web/Wallpaper”) and save it (use SAVE AS) to some other place on your computer with a different name. Make sure you save it as a .JPG pic. I renamed mine “img100.jpg” (since all other pre-installed theme pics have some other similar name with a value less than “100”).

3. Using Photoshop (what I used) or Windows Paint or some other similar graphics editing program, open the file you SAVED AS in Step 2.
3a. Using crop (or some other method) d
elete all of the image from the theme so that all you have is just a plain white background picture. Depending on your graphics editor, you may be able to clear the entire picture by doing Ctrl+A (select all) and then hitting your Delete key.
3b. Save the all-white background theme you just made to “C:/Windows/Web/Wallpaper”.

4. In the Control Panel’s “Change the Theme” page, set your theme to “Win7 Basic”.

5. Open Windows Color (the link is at the bottom of
“Change the Theme” page) and from the dropdown select “Desktop” and change its color to white (the font on your monitor's Desktop should now be black).
5a. In Windows Color, select “Window” from the dropdown and set Color 1 to white. Note: The font name on this screen will probably be greyed out. If the font color is not set to black, set it to black.
5b. In Windows Color, select “Message box” from the dropdown and set its color to white.....
and unbold the font (using the little “B” button) next to the font color box.

6. Open Desktop Background (the link is at the bottom of
“Change the Theme” page), select the white desktop image that you created in Step 3.

7. Your newly created theme should be in the My Themes section at the top of the top of the Control Panel's Change the Theme page. In
the My Themes section, click the Save Theme link and then assign a name to your new theme.

8. That’s it. You should now have a white desktop with un-bolded, un-shadowed black font. Good luck!

Two pics below: 1.
How the Desktop looks overall. 2. A close-up of how the icon fonts and taskbar looks.
