What Is That Taskbar Thingy At Top Of Dell Desktop?

This should have been simple to research, but I can't find much about it. My new Dell computer came with what looks like an extra taskbar at the top of the W7 desktop, although it's bigger then the taskbar. Was there from the first time I turned on the computer. It's disappeared with no explanation.

I've spent over an hour looking at W7 desktop screen captures and tutorials, and can't find anything that looks like it, and almost all other photos I've seen of the W7 desktop don't have it at all.

I'm guessing this is something that the Dell OEM version of W7 uses? Is it even part of W7 or is this something from Dell? I'm not even sure what it's officially called, and don't know how to get it back.

The closest photo that explains what it looks like is attached. In that photo, it looks like someone took it and made it into a circle, but on my Dell computer it was on the top of the desktop in a straight line.

Never mine, I figured it out. It's not part of W7, it's something Dell installs called "Dell Dock". Sorry, new computer, had no idea.

I removed it too. If you're curious, more information is available here: Dell Dock - 1. Welcome.
