How do i customize start menu?

    How do i customize start menu with images?


    Hi all, well what i would like to do is put an image of my choice in the background of my start menu, which file do i have to change/modify to get something simular to these pictures?



    and this one, both outlined in RED

    Pictures can only be added by making a new theme and adding it there, you will need a program like Photoshop to edit the appropriate image and you will need Windows Style Builder to create the theme.

    Any tutorials on that or links? and say for instance i download this theme

    theme cod mw2 for win7 by ~proto69 on deviantART

    can i just replace this image in the start menu with one of my own? and where is the image located?

    Sorry I don't know of any tutorials but to apply a theme you will also need to patch some system files, I have been using VistaGlazz recently and it seems to work well.

    If you download that theme you can get a 30 day trial of Restorator to open the themes msstyle and you can then extract the image folder and go through them untill you find the one that looks like the start menu with COD on it and then you just need to edit that image and put your own on there and then add that back to the msstyle using Restorator again.

    You will need to purchase Windows Style Builder if you want to create your own themes and you can get Photoshop CS4 Extented on a 30 Day trial if you don't have any decent editing software.
