How to show only desktop icons as icon

How to show the desktop icons as icon (no thumbnails) ant the windows explorer as thumbnails? Thanks!

Hello Suriname,

The desktop and Windows Explorer share the same thumbnail preview settings. If you turn it off, it affects both locations.

A workaround would be to have image files or folders as shortcuts on the desktop instead, and change their icon to one you want.
