Explorer Icon View - How to distance icons, more text?

The major problem with Windows Seven:

In Explorer the icons are too close together. Setting the icon spacing apart only changes the behavior on the desktop.

I HATE THIS.

The icons are too close together and the text barely has any room! I want my icons medium sized but I need more room!

Please tell me there is a fix for this garbage behavior!

Welcome!
Your question is a common one. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a solution at this time. You can always try holding Ctrl and scrolling with the mouse wheel. See if you can satisfy yourself with different icon sizes.

Medium Icons - I like the size because it is like XP but with medium icons but the spacing between the icons is way too small.

Q: Explorer - row height for icon view
When I explore a folder with (mainly) image files in it, they are displayed as tiles (thumbnails?) but widely spaced out vertically. If I scroll the window up/down to refresh the view then the rows of images are closer together. Please see the attached "before" and "after" screenshots. Is...

Painfully Faint Text in Explorer Details View
So far I'm pretty happy with Win 7, but one new feature is downright painful for me. My eyes are unusually sensitive to low contrast, and they start to ache after...
