"Group by" option in folders...

I like to group the hard drives by type in the computer folder. However if I check that, some of my other folders will have the same setting which groups all the files in those folders by type. It makes them look very messy. I don't want my files grouped especially when I have a lot of different types in a folder. Is there a way to group just the hard drives but not other files? How come some folders stay the same while others are grouped like the computer folder? (They all have different types of files and the files are all shown in large icons) Thanks!

Try this:
  1. Open the folder you want to customize
  2. Right-click an unused area of the folder view that contains no icon, then select "Customize this folder..."
  3. In the "Optimize this folder for" dropdown box, select the kind of view you want ("General Item", "Documents", "Pictures", "Music" or "Videos")
  4. Click the "Also apply this template to all subfolders" checkbox to add a checkmark
  5. Click "OK"
  6. Set your icon view style, sort and grouping options by right-clicking an unused area of the folder, and selecting the "View", "Sort By" and "Group By" options
  7. Click "Organize", then select "Folder and search options"
  8. Click the "View" tab
  9. Click "Apply to Folders", then click "Yes" to the prompt
  10. Click "OK"
That should do it.
