Windows 7 - What programs/gadgets to use to customize your desktop?

What programs/gadgets to use to customize your desktop?

I see a lot of guys running a CPU monitor & a fan monitor/control on their desktop. And I've seen some date/clock/weather one's that are pretty cool too. And I understand there's some cool icon things too. So lets see what little gadgets you guys have used to customize your desktop.

And a little bonus question. How does overclocking work? Is it a program you use to overclock your CPU for sessions where you may need a little more processing power? From all the reviews I've read about my CPU it sounds like people are pushing my CPU pretty far even on stock cooling.
