Windows 7 and XP
screen saver

Hi there. I had at one time tested the XP picture slideshow screen saver in Windows 7 (32 bit edition). I bought a new computer, which runs Windows 7 64 bit. Where do I copy the .scr file to make it work? Will the XP picture slide show run with not problem?
I do not like Windows 7 picture slide show. It is not flexible enough; doesn't allow any settings.

Hi gallicbear,

Sorry we're getting to this so late. I hope you've found a solution by now, but if not -- what specific settings did you want to modify in the Picture Slideshow? There might be a workaround.

Also, what level of success did you have running an XP Picture Slideshow in Windows 7 32-bit?

Windows 7 and XP
Screen Saver

Thanks for the reply, WalkerA
The My Picture Slideshow from Win XP has been running for a while in Win 7, with no problems. I installed the file ssmypics in the System32 folder. In settings in allows me to set the different features of the Slideshow of XP, which weren't available in other slideshows of Win7.

I tried to do the same with the Windows Vista Photoscreensaver by copying the .scr file from Vista into Win7 but it didn't work

Anyone know if there is a work around for this to work?

I have also tried the Windows Live equivalant one it works but the picture animations are all jerky? anyone know why this should be? as I have a fast enough PC so it should have worked ok????
