    Hi Start Menu,

You can make .reg shortcut for adding or removing to Windows Media Player list. However, if it edits a wrong file it might corrupt your registry.

So before using the same it is advisable to have a backup of the registry. Check the link below for same:

    Registry - Backup and Restore

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Start Menu,

Thanks for your reply. Please let me know what is the end result you are looking forward to have from the ".reg" file.

As you can simply add/remove mulitple or single files in the Windows media player with a two clicks. You can also check Windows Media Player shortcuts at the below link:

    Hi Start Menu,

Thanks for explaining the issue. I understand you wish to remove the Windows Media player options from the context menu. Please check these simple steps which would help you achieve it:

Windows Media Player - Restore or Remove from Default Programs

Under Control Panel select Default Programs

add to windows media player list-1.jpg

Then click "Set program access and computer defaults"

add to windows media player list-2.jpg

    Click on Custom

add to windows media player list-3.jpg

Uncheck Enable access to this program next to Windows Media Player

add to windows media player list-4.jpg

I hope this should achieve what you are trying to do. If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us.
