    Viewing RAR files as folders?

Is there any way to get the same functionality for RAR files that we have for ZIP files in Windows? Being able to open them like folders and easily copy & paste. Now I use 7-Zip's context menu but it would be more convenient if they could be opened in Explorer.

I know this is possible in 3rd party file managers like Directory Opus but those are not yet compatible with Win7.

WinMount allows you to right click on the .rar .7z .iso etc and mount it on a virtual drive or local folder and use the files directly without extraction.

The great irony of compression is that once extracted the files and the .zip will take up twice the storage.

Once extracted I delete the zip. The compression is to speed up the download.

If I want to share it other than providing a link, I can zip it up again. If it is a very large file, I usually burn it to a disc to make sure I never have to download again. The W7 .iso's for example.

So that's the reason all those leaked Win7 builds were so slow !!!

I think it's called file sharing not file taking. LOL

If you are referring to not seeding after the download, you are mistaken. We were talking about sharing with friends, not strangers. If you don't want me to make assumptions about you, I would appreciate that you don't make assumptions about me. I am speaking of small files. Since I have never downloaded any torrent other than these W7 builds, can I assume that you have. Since you said zip files I did not realize we were discussing torrents.

    Gosh garysgold ...

I've just noticed you've edited your last post to include the above.

I'm glad you restrict yourself to only downloading torrents of illegal, pirated copies of leaked Windows 7 builds but am saddened that you 'assume' that I don't.

I have not assumed that you do, that is the whole point. I felt like you where making an assumption about me with your 'sharing not taking' comment. Maybe I misread you intent. If so I'm sorry. As far as these leaked builds are concerned, if MS wanted them stopped they could easily do so. It's not like they are losing any money from them. Indeed the hype is better than any advertising they could buy. What I'm trying to say, not very well apparently, is that I don't know you and you don't know me, so if we assume something about each other it only makes an a** out of u and me. I am not trying to start an argument or make any accusations.
