Change Superbar icons

I am having a problem modifying the icons for Windows programs shown on the superbar. As you can see its ok for things such as Firefox, Thunderbird and Chrome, but no matter what I try, things such as MSN and Explorer still show original icons. I have changed the assigned incon in the exe files for the programs but still no joy. I found the reg entry for explorer that defines the Taskbar icon and changed it but no change either. The weird thing is if I right click on the icon in the superbar, the new icon shows next to the program name in the menu - just not on the bar - any ideas?

can you please share the silver icons pack, it looks awesome

regarding your issue, you should try making a new shortcut in the superbar to whatever program and right click its properties menu and change its target and start in location to the msn messenger .exe location and also use the custom icon, maybe this will do the trick

That does work if I want to pin the item to the bar but I hate having pinned stuff there. As you can see from the pic below I open my explorer windows from a popup menu on the quicklaunch bar so when they open, the icon on the superbar has to change.

Fortunately I found the fix: after changing the default icons in the exe files - EMPTY the *!"£$%!!! Windows Prefetch folder! Can't believe I was so dumb

The main icon set is called Token and you can get it here

The 3d icons in the popup are from the Pry System and Pry Frente sets here (incredible collection of icon sets here by the way)

Cant remember where I got the Start Orb but if you need it email me
*Edit - found it

Hi Guys

Sorry about the delay in replying - all popup menus are done with TrueLaunchBar - an app I have been using for years. Fantastically configurable in every possible way and well supported. Here is a final screenshot of my new desktop using the Token Light Icon set. All popups have been 'torn off' for the screenshot.
In order to change the way icons appear on the toolbar you will need a copy of Restorator to change the default icon in the Exe file for each program, and Microangelo On Display to change the 'appearance' of the icon (this feature is added to the context menu in explorer). Both need to be changed to the desired icon.

Open icons are (left to right):
MSN
Control Panel
Google Chrome
Thunderbird
FTP
Firefox
Snagit
