Windows 7 - Change window color in Aero?

I've used the Basic theme for years and like to have a slight gray background rather than glaring white in text windows like this one, and in Word. Is that possible to do in Win 7 Aero? If so, please give me the process.

Right Click on Desktop, select Personalize, then Window Color.

That apparently just changes the border color. What do I do to change the color of, say, the screen behind these words from white to light gray? Likewise the background color to text in my word processor? I've messed with that window color button a lot and it changed nothing but the border color.

Hello Southkaibab, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sorry, but those options only work in Advanced Appearance Settings when you are using a Windows Classic theme.

To do this in while using a Aero theme, you would need a 3rd party skinning program like WindowBlinds.

That does help. And it's just what I thought--you can't change the text background in Aero, but only in Basic. Which seems, I gotta say, absurd. The ability to personalize your colors in Windows and Word are terrifically limited, and I don't see why. I think I'll go take a look at Window Blinds.
