curious if this replaces the start orb how is it that mine reverted to the default randomly?
also i thought of a cool orb a planet that starts to explode when you drag the mouse over it and explodes when you click it. just a ramble from me
If you have Windows Update, then explorer.exe might have been overwritten by some update. try replacing the start orb again.

No. Dont do that. Cuz then W7SBC will then use the old backup when applying or restoring.

For example, if you try and use W7SBC to restore explorer, it will use the old backup to restore your recently updated explorer.exe.

All you have to do is delete the old backup (explorer_backup.exe) and when W7SBC runs it will detect that there is no backup and it will make a backup of the new updated explorer file. You will be fine if you do that.

I didnt want him to restore the old explorer, I wanted him to apply the start orb to the new explorer.exe. :)
