    Bubbles Screensaver going nuts!

My Windows 7 Screensaver is going nuts!!!

After a couple of hours, the bubbles suddenly go zipping around at 100 miles an hour, eventually either going down to 1 bubble, or making a verticle line of bubbles that just moves left to right to left across my screen....

I've made certain that my Java, Flash, and Shockwave are all up to date - anyone have any clues?

I'm not sure if that is normal or not.....I've always set my monitor to shut off after 45 minutes of inactivity.

Look at Shawn's tutorial and see how to slow the Bubbles down

I've seen this, it is not an issue of the bubbles starting out too fast - it starts out normally for a few hours, and then it's like a tornado touches down and moves the bubbles all over the place until the screen saver is deactivated.

This happens to my brother as well and he is on Win 7 64 Bit and has a Radeon graphics card, so your NVidia card probably isn't the issue. We have found no solution to this annoying problem

I think i may have figured it out

I have modified my settings to make the bubbles smaller and what i have seen is that when a large group of bubbles become entraped on one edge of the display it seems to cause a Richocet effect starting at the back of the large mass and then resonating through the entire group. Due to your PC doing the trajectory and angle calculations at remarkable speeds it seems as if they just go extremely fast all of a sudden. but what i believe might be happening is that your CPU is calculating the ricochet and trajectory at such high volumes that when a mass or cluster of bubbles is compressed by another mass or cluster they compress and then bounce causing an increase of speed and therefore more force on the other bubbles causing more richochets at higher speeds making it seem as if the bubbles have just gone sparatic.

just my thought on the situation.

(and yes i will admit it now im probably wrong)

I've seen this problem on a co-workers computer. I also have the bubbles on crack problem on my laptop with Win8.1

Just for fun i tried using the registry changes to modify the bubble settings on my Win8.1 system.
MaterialGlass works, I can change the bubbles from solid to transparent.
Radius seems to only present 1 size, about 3/4 of an inch in diameter regardless of what value i choose in the number spread.
ShowBubbles works, I like to have my working desktop in view with the bubbles floating around.
    ShowShadows works
SphereDensity works but it restricts you to 3 total bubbles, regardless of the value entered.
TurbulenceForce i couldn't see any changes made to the bubbles regardless of which value was entered
TurbulenceNumOctaves works but it has 1 speed period, super fast color changes.
TurbulenceSpeed i couldn't see any difference in my bubbles with any setting in the number ranges.

Is there a different DWORD entry or Value i need to use with Win8.1 64bit Enterprise? I'm currently testing these settings on a Win7 x64 Enterprise build to see if DWORD's in the tutorial work on that version.

Or I just had this thought, since it's a 64 bit OS, do i need to add them as a QWORD value?
