I like this better. Gives you the XP Classic style All Programs while keeping the rest of the Windows 7 start menu stuff.

To get a XP Classic style All Programs list from the Start Menu, see this article. I used the provided .reg file and it works like a charm:

Wow! I just had a look at the new Windows 8 "Start Menu" list, which essentially doesn't exist any more because there are NO lists any more --- just a screen full of boxes of apps --- like the display of apps on a smart phone or iPad. Those of us who still prefer the Classic XP style of Start Menu will have a whole lot of readjusting to do!!!

Classic Start Menu: Start Button appears doubled
Switched to the XP-ish Classic Start Menu, plus Adjust for Best Performance, in the usual prescribed way, no third-party interface-modifiers. All looks & works fine except that the Start button itself looks like TWO buttons -- one atop the other and just slightly out of alignment (screenshot here)....

Greetings! I shot a quick video of the issue: 4iSPCen51xI When we switch themes, the orb reappears but functionality does not return to normal, then the orb will disappear again and be replaced with "Start" written in text. No odd group policies are enabled (not that I am aware of), the...

My start menu orb does not change!
Hi. I am putting a lot of effort into making my OS look good, and I am currently using Windows 7. I am trying to change the start menu orb, but it just does not change! I have tried using Restorator, and "prehacked" explorer.exe's. Nothing happens! ...
Change Start Menu
I realise that the Classic Start Menu option isn't available, but is there a way to get a menu to open when the mouse is hovered over an item. All Programs, then point the mouse at a menu item and it expands without the extra clicks that the current default menu needs. I like to set up (in...
