Windows 7: Cursor Icons Displaying Weirdly

Cursor Icons Displaying Weirdly

So, I go to add some custom cursors to my C:/Windows/Cursors folder and am confronted with some cursor icons that I know cannot be truly the correct representation of the actual cursors. See the attached image of said folder to see what I mean. Just weird! Any insight or solutions? Thanks.

Oh, by the way, this is my first post. Hope I got it in the right spot (custom cursors/customization forum?) Every time I googled something about Windows 7 solutions, this site would pop up. So far, the help it has given me has proved invaluable. I hope this time is no exception.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)

Hi and welcome.
First post and I see are from the great state of Alaska. (Used to live in Fairbanks 8 yrs)
Yes this is weird. I also checked my cursor directory under Windows and it is viewed the same way. I'm not sure if you will find the answer unless you seak to Microsoft and ask why cursors directory is viewed that way.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Same here. When i navigate my explorer to C:/Windows/Cursors, the cursor icons will turn out the same as TS stated above. I'm wondering why.

Pointers & Cursors Hijacked

Doesn't seem to be hurting anything . When I view the cursors from the "Mouse and Pointers" Control Panel item, all is as it should be .

Font displaying weirdly?
I wasn't sure where to post this but, yesterday I installed the light version(s) of Helvetica fonts on my laptop and now (on Tumblr, usually) the fonts that are supposed to be displayed as Helvetica, I think? are coming out in weird characters. (pic below) I circled them. It does that for seemingly...
