    windows aero glass effect problem

i just recently installed windows 7 on my laptop and can't get the really cool glass effect to work. when i restarted my computer once, as soon as i logged on it said it changed to windows 7 basic, i clicked on the little link and it said there was some program running in the background that couldnt support windows aero and i had never heard of it, and cant find out how to close it. my computer has a 3.3 WEI in graphics and gaming graphics, and 2 GB of ram. also everytime i try to change it back to aero it just does nothing and stays in basic, any suggestions??

oh, sure. It turned out there was a program running in the background that was incompatible with windows aero. I noticed this when i restarted the computer once and there was an icon in my toolbar that windows aero wasn't compatible with a program that was running, so i clicked on it and it told me the program (qttask, which is quick time i think), and i went to the task manager and found the program in the processes list, and ended it. After that, glass works great now.
