Easy tool to change file icons

Microsoft made a big mistake removing the option of changing the icon of certain file extensions.

I would like to have my html/htm files have a web related icon and not just a blank white paper icon.

Is there an easy tool to make this happen. I have tried going into the registry but I can't seem to get it to work that way.

Hello Jgray, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This tutorial can help show you how to easily change the default icon used for a file extension through the registry.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks for the replies.

I have been battling this for weeks now. I have tried every write up possible including the one presented above. i even tried "Creative Element Power tools" and that did not work either.

I have windows 7 home premium 64bit. Does this make a difference?
