Taskbar pinned icons - how to backup/restore them ?

    Hello

Because I have more than two dozen pinned icons, I search a solution to backup & restore them in case I have to duplicate user profile or reinstall OS.

These icons are customized (some of them with tips founded here, for exemple game explorer, recycle bin etc..) with special *ico

I know pinned icon links are stored to :

    %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\

But restored links don't restore pinned icons on an empty taskbar, even if I reset iconcache.db and restart computer.

Are there some registry entries or configuration files to backup/restore in order to find my customized taskbar icons ?

    Thanks

    Hello Tim,

You might see if keeping a folder with a copy of the pinned shortcuts as a backup. After a clean install, you could then just pin them back to the taskbar, or pin the folder to the taskbar to make it even faster.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
