    Transparency & windows explorer

Hey guys, how would it be possible to make my windows explorer menus transparent while keeping the icons and text inside the directories visible (like this: Midnight Glass Nature Theme by ~MrGRiM01 on deviantART) I can't figure it out, i downloaded the midnight glass & nature theme from there but it just doesn't work correctly (unsure where to put the .dll's as well

    Thanks in advance guys :)

You need a to patch the DLLs that control visual styles. Microsoft has a security system in place that looks for their signature on visual styles, effectively limiting your selection. Patching the DLLs removes that security. It's not that hard to do it by hand, but safer and easier to use a program that does it for you. Use these:

    Windows 7 32-bit
    Windows 7 64-bit

It's completely safe and completely reversible. Microsoft has had this "security" since XP, and people have been removing it since XP as well.

Heres an image of what I mean, I've already installed the actual themes and patched the .dll's which need patching but for some reason the explorer transparency program (full glass) just doesn't work :/

I've been looking around further around the forum and it said that if you don't have a black background it won't work, I changed my background and still didn't work

Did you put these 3 items (screenshot) in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes ?
You might try this Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7 if you do unpatch the files first.

That was already black as default, I'm going to unpatch and uninstall the themes then reapply everything...
