    TASKBAR - changes

All I want to do is change the color of my task-bar......I believe my video driver stops me from doing this, which frustrates me, but there is nothing I can do in windows I guess. Any ideas anyone? .....screen-shot attached.

The Taskbar color cannot be changed directly if Aero is disabled.
But it can be done with some resource tweaking, check the tutorial here

Does this work for Windows 7 Ultimate? (store bought version)
I will get to try it later if it does, perhaps tomorrow or the next day.

    Thank you very much.

    I'm afraid there's not.

You are running a rig way below the minimum recommendations to run Ultimate (Celeron, 1 gig, Intel 82852). It's quite understandable you can't enable Aero, or even if you somehow could you shouldn't.

The hacks for non-Aero systems tend to be not so nice (my subjective opinion, not necessary a fact).

Thanks! What is amazing is with the same machine running a different OS, I could do so much with graphics.
Check out this LINK. It just seems weird to me. I don't do a lot of the eye candy thing, but do like to customize some. Actually the OS runs decent on my hardware.

It runs decent partly because Aero and some other visual effects are disabled. Already adding one gig of RAM would in my opinion allow you to use Aero.

    Not sure about that

I don't think the graphics driver is capable of AERO

Yeah, my bad. That chipset is too old.
