The only way (that i know of) is to 'Auto Hide' the taskbar, just right-click the taskbar and select properties.
P.S sorry for the late reply

I have tried and tried with those registry entries. They must not be compatible with the x64 version of windows 7. That's the only thing i can guess, because i'v tryed everything on that page brink, and nothing disabled the "always on top" feature, I have build 7077 x64. Thank you for your help, but that page did nothing for me.
how can i disable the always on top feature of the task bar in windows 7 build 7077x64? Brink, anyone?

It seems that Microsoft has removed the Taskbar Always on Top option in the newer builds of Windows 7. The only workaround that I know of is Auto hide for now. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel i7-980X 3.3 Ghz (3.48 Ghz OC'd) Motherboard ASUS P6X58D Premium Memory 12 GB (2GBx6) DDR3 PC3-16000 2000 MHz Kingston HyperX Graphics Card Sapphire HD5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB Sound Card Realtek HD Audio ALC889 Integrated Chip Monitor(s) Displays 3x 27" Asus VE278Q Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Mouse Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution PSU OCZ Series Gold OCZZ1000M 1000W Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Copper CPU heat sink w/120 MM Hard Drives 160GB OCZ RevoDrive X2

I have several ASUS EEE PCs and I really need this feature ON, since it allows me to use the netbook screen more efficiently /it has a really small display/. M$ will push be to turn back to WinXP. I wonder if there's a registry record or something else that could enable the program windows to show over the taskbar? | My System Specs | | |

The "disable taskbar always on top" patch worked fine a long time. But a few Windows-Updates ago it stopped to work: When started an error message says "unknown explorer version". Is there any possibility to fix this?
This would be really cool, without this behavior the taskbar really sucks, cause every program related to time (Video, Animation, Sound, Flash etc.) has the timeline at the bottom of the screen. So everytime you get there not really precisely the taskbar comes up again... | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Professional x64 |

Hello Indynaut, and welcome to Seven Forums.
This may be able to help have the patch work again until there's a new release of the patch available. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...st1452118.html
