Taskbar toolbars constantly disappearing

So I've read the other threads here for trying to get your toolbars (not quicklaunch, I use my own) to stop disappearing and the advice there didn't help.

Isn't there a tool or hack yet that forces Windows to behave like it should? Anyone?

Hi iamgregor,

In order for us to recommend a tool or hack, if one exists, we'll need some more information about your issue. First, please fill out your System Specs as completely as possible.

What toolbars are disappearing? By "I use my own" do you mean a third-party toolbar program? What sort of behavior are you expecting from Windows 7 that it's not producing?

Answers to those questions will enable us to better assist you.

Cheers,

Before RTM, I had the same problem. Every time I rebooted, my toolbars were gone. But since RTM I have not encountered this problem any more - neither in x86 nor in x64.

Win 7 64 bit home premium. My toolbars are just folders in my documents folder (I sorted my shortcuts into categories and named each by the category). I add them using New Toolbar.

I have updated my settings in the system specs link you specified, but that's the base of it.

What's RTM?
Release to Marketing - that is the official release of Windows 7. Before that we had only Beta and RC test versions.

Mine is OEM pre-installed with my laptop that I bought last month. So that shouldn't be an issue for me.

Thanks for adding your info, iamgregor. Here's the hotfix Microsoft offers for this issue: FIX: The Taskbar is reset to the default settings when you use the "Automatically Log On" feature in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2

How do I download the hotfix? I don't see a download link on that KB page.
