Changing default behavior of Enter key

In Windows, the default behavior of the Enter key is open. Click a folder or file to highlight it, then press Enter to open it.

Is it possible to change the Enter key behavior to rename, instead of open? This is how the Enter key behaves in OS X and it is very handy.

    Try Sharpkeys.

Thanks, neat program. Tried it but it only remaps keys to other keys, and there is no 'rename' key.

Well, in windows F2 is the "rename" key. If you highlight a folder or file, then press F2, you can rename that file or folder.

If that does not satisfy you, see if you can assign F2 to Enter, using either sharpkeys or some other remapper app.

You are right Bill2, Enter key can be remapped to F2 using Sharpkeys. After doing so, 'Enter' basically doesn't exist making it difficult to write papers or do anything that needs a normal Enter key.
I think this means I am stuck using F2 to rename.
Thanks for your help. +rep for the Sharpkeys suggestion, it's a nifty program.
