[SOLVED] Win7 keeps resetting my text-select cursor

Problem: Win7 keeps resetting my text-select cursor to default!

Have saved the custom theme and am using it, but even it has been recently reset to the default cursor set it was based on. I don't know what's going on, but this is getting really old.

As a writer, I depend on an easily-seen text-select cursor, so this is a big problem.

    Very puzzled.

    Mouse Properties > Pointers

Is "Allow themes to change pointers" checked?

How are you applying the theme?

@rdanner3 :You could try a different cursor pack. I got one from VirtualCustoms DOTcom and it is very visible. It is called Red Mix. Has installer. Many others there too but I found this one to be most visible on most any page. Follow instructions. hope this might help you!!

P.S. As dunfiddlin pointed out uncheck the box in pointer options so it won't get changed again.

Actually, I figured it out. I didn't click on "Default" on the cursor I'd changed. (had already told Win7 not to allow themes to change the cursors; it didn't work!)

Once I did that, though, it worked fine and has since. (See "Favorite Cursors" thread for the installer for the pack... which only affects one cursor!)

URL doesn't work. Unfortunately. However, found it at virtualcustoms dot-net, but I prefer not to get on yet another forum at this time. The cursors look interesting, but I have solved the problem I reported earlier. Silly me. Managed to fix it myself, but in a way I didn't expect.

    Thanks for the heads-up.
