    Change default windows explorer

    Hi.
I want to change the default windows explorer to windows double explorer (Windows Double Explorer) so each time i open a folder for example it opens with my custom explorer.

    Is this possible?

There are many many ways to do this. Some will give you results you may not like and others will give you parts of what you want. Because the Windows Explorer is also the taskbar (where the windows ORB is) and provides the Windows Shell you have to be careful of what you are doing. How far do you want to go, replace the shell, replace the ORB or just replace Windows Explorer for browsing your computer??

I've checked the site, and the Windows Double Explorer seems to be portable.

Is it an exe program??? (As in non system Windows Explorer?)

Couldn't get it to work. May it just doesn't like 64 bit mode; not sure.

You can disable the double pane.
Its not perfect but its still in beta. I used it mostly because of the tabs.

If you just want to replace the file browser then make a shortcut to the new one and don't click on the old one when you want to browse files! (I'm probably missing something but at the moment I can't see any circumstances in which this won't work!)
