Windows 7: video stream as desktop background

video stream as desktop background

Hello,

I work with a dual display setup and would like to get the video stream from 2 high definition surveillance cameras (Mobotix) as desktop background of display A & B.

I've got an application that I can run twice (one on each display) that will play in full screen the realtime stream from the cameras, but I want that as a background.

Is there a way to "backgroundize" an application, in the sense that it will not respond to any user input and be displayed as a desktop background ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Um ... no!

Ok that's a bit short. Almost certainly not unless you have the programming skills to direct the stream through a desktop gadget which also disables the interactive elements. As you seem to need a separate application to see the pictures at all, however, it loks like I was right the first time. Sorry!

I don't know about dual screens but, I use Windows Dreamscene that enables video backgrounds for Windows 7. Sorry if that isn't helpful!

Fraid not. It requires a pre-recorded video file.
