Changing Window frame color doesn't work

I am trying to make the currently selected window a bit easier to recognize. So I right-click the desktop, "Personalize", clicked "Window Color" => Advanced Appearance settings, selected "Active Title bar" and picked a dark red as one of the two colors. This should yield me a red-blue title bar and so it also shows in the preview.

But when then I click Apply or OK, the desktop goes gray for a while and then comes back in colors, but the active window's color has not changed at all! It's still in blue...

What am I missing? Why does the current schema (Aero Themes / Windows 7) not accept my customization?

    Hello Michael,

The colors are not applied unless you are using a Windows Classic or one of the High Contrast themes instead.

    Hope this helps,

Really? That sucks! Because with Aero the only indication which window is the currently active seems the red [X]-area in the upper right hand corner. What a bad design - apparently just to show off and not a cent of though on usability.

    Thanks for clarifying this!

I'm having a similar problem, excpet when I attempt to revert the Windows 7 Basic theme back to the original, it tells me that it can't be completed because "Access is Denied." Is there any way that I can fix this problem?
