    Picture re size tool

I used to have a picture resize tool on my last PC. It allows you to reduce the size of images. I downloaded it from the MSN website. I have tried this with my new Windows 7 Pro software but it will not install.

Is anyone aware of a safe downloadable version to fit onto Windows 7 ? If so please advise.

Try running it in Compatibility Mode.

Google provides a free program called Picasa that I've used before with no problems. There may be some better suggestions out there, so maybe wait and see what a few others have to say.

Picasa is a little too complicated for me .. I use Irfanview

But it sounds like This Resizer might be what you're looking for

This website allow you to do all things you want online. Access this website, you just have to click start editing, click open to choose the file you want to edit. You can also use effects tool to make your pictures change the way you can't imagine. I guess it has resize function too
Just another free tool for you to try

Or to downsize them you can just right click and choose send to email recipient in the context menu, then choose the size you want. You don't have to actually send them, just drag them out of attachments in the email it creates.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I am still not quite getting what I need.

I was able to download a power tool from MSN on my last computer that allowed me to right click on an image and there was an immediate drop down menu. I didn't have to open programmes to do anything.

Can't say windows 7 is impressing me at the moment

Any good picture processing program like FastStone image viewer can resize pictures. I don't understand where your problem is. Just the fact that a program that you used to use on a vintage OS is defunct does not mean that Win7 has a problem. The problem is that your vintage program was probably never updated.

This is my all time favorite and works fine on Win 7 Pro 32bit and it's free

IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide

It is a viewer but lets you do all sorts of manipulations such as resize, crop, change colorization and even save as a different image format like jpg to bmp, etc.
