I already use rocketdock and objectdock... Basically I'm trying to get a Mac-like taskbar... I have the skin and everything else, I just need to get rid of the programs running on the taskbar...

What I think you're saying (and nobody's getting) is that when you open a program you don't want its icon to appear on the taskbar irrespective of whether it's the active window, minimised etc., correct?

In which case I fear only disappointment awaits you. It would be possible to strip away the associated 'button' graphics in a visual style but the process which makes the icon appear is locked away in the system and I'm not sure that any good could come from intercepting it. I suppose you could assign a 100% transparent icon to all applications but only if you don't mind forgoing the use of icons anywhere within Windows.

    Hi Dunfiddlin !!

It is to make the taskbar mac like, that means ( maybe i am a bit fool) there should be drop down menus File, Edit, View, Go, Window, etc on the bar, and no indication of the open programs or open windows there. If either of Objectbar or finderbar is applied , it is possible to have the desired situation.

Then what about taskbar ? It is to be hidden. ( Taskbar Auto-hide - Turn On or Off )

So how to manage the open programs or windows ? Jason suggested him to use a dock program, so that the open windows and programs can be managed easily without using the windows taskbar, i.e. minimizing to dock etc.

So I believe that both Jason and me understood what rufus65 wanted , and tried to help him as per our knowledge.

Please dont underestimate others, pal It makes friends unhappy
Not guilty, m'lud. I merely interpret Rufus' second post to indicate that he does not want to 'replace' the Windows taskbar as your solution would or have the Mac functionality (since he already has a dock) but to keep the W7 taskbar and have no icons appear on the taskband. If I'm correct (for which I asked his confirmation) then nobody so far has 'got' it. That is only a statement of fact. If you want to turn it into something else then I'm afraid that you do so indicating far more about 'others' readiness to take offence than mine to give it.

I am earnestly sorry, Dunfiddlin !!

It is a matter that who is correct or who is not that should come later. The first thing is my behavior to you . I am very sorry for it . Hope you will be kind enough to forgive me for such languages .

And will you mind anything if I send you a friendship request ? After my confession about my guilt ?

Here is what I have currently and is working great. I have both rocketdock and objectdock plus working my apps and minimized windows. I also located a custom windows 7 theme file and used it to get my look for my windows and taskbar. So the look is finished, now all I want is the function part of removing the running program indicator out of there. I will try finder bar and see if I like that, but I do like the way my taskbar looks now. It's a snow leopard theme so it looks nice...
