    Hi,

Based on my knowledge, You can add it but it will be presented as static not animated. Microsoft has no workaround to get it to work.

Windows 7 does not support animated desktop background. Considering the high system resource usage of animated desktop, Windows 7 has removed this feature to meet the most computer hardware configurations.

Hi, What is the use in static image, when you copy gif.
I could move it if i choose to open it with internet explorer or irfan view. But what i need is moving gif files in the desktop.
Thank you for the other information of msoft removing this in window 7. In windows xp, i had no problem in having gif pic with movement. But in windows 7, it is a problem. Is there a solution to this. As win 8 touches, there may be some solutions to have this work around

    Hi, archer,
That is real solution. But i could not play the converted wmv. file as i do not have the required video card. That is the only problem. Aero has to be enabled to run the loop video in the windows media player. Barring that this works like a charm.
