    Customized Library

I remove all folders from the libraries but one. However, they keep coming back. ie: videos, pictures, music, etc. How can I keep the library folder the way I want it?

    Hello Mariner,

How are you going about removing them?

Is there anything that you are doing (ex: restarting the computer) when they come back?

You should be able to just right click on a library folder and click on Delete to remove them. As long as you do not restore them, they should remain deleted.

    Brink,
I remove them by clicking on the Windows Explorer which opens the Library folder. Then I select the ones I don't want, right click the selection and click DELETE and then OK. They disappear.
This time I immediately rebooted and they were still gone. I will check the Library folder periodically and see what kind of action might bring them back.

I use Carbonite backup service and back up only the Library folder. Has all my data. Makes it simple.

Ok. Hopefully they will stay gone for you. Please post back if they return with anything that you think may have caused it.

    Brink,
This morning, when I looked, the Documents folder was added, sometime during the night, to the Library. The single folder that I want is the Users folder. Documents is contained within Users so The Library now has a redundant Documents folder.

The only thing that happens at night is I have scheduled a reboot. Otherwise the computer is in Sleep Mode. I have, again removed the Documents folder and disabled the scheduled reboot. We'll wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Could you post a screenshot of this location? I'm not sure what you mean by having the "Users folder" library. It sounds like you are talking about the C:\Users\(user-name) folders instead.

If you do mean libraries, then as a test, create a new administrator account, and delete the library folders that you did not want to see if they stay gone in that user account. This will help determine if it's a issue in just your current user account, or for all users.

    Brink,
Here is a screen shot of what I found this morning.
It is redundant because Documents folder is a sub-folder of Users.
Last night, before bed, there was Pictures, Music and Videos in addition to those above. Something happened yesterday to put them all in the Library and then something happened last night to take some out.
This is not a big thing as I have Carbonite backing up only the Users folder, but I like to keep things tidy.

What included folders do you have in these library folders?

The normal folders you would expect on a new installation. You included two tutorials that suggest that deleting one of the included folders would be a solution. I don't want to delete an included folder of the Users Library I just don't want it displayed twice. Once as a standalone Library and again as an included folder to the Users Library.
Incidentally, I have set up another user account as you suggested and deleted all Libraries. Then I added the Users folder to a Library. It'll take awhile to see the results.
