I might just reformat - there's a couple other annoyances to deal with that existed before this error occured (recent items on start menu broken, an app might stop giving an error after, and take windows off my Solid State Disk to to WINSXS folder - I can move it but it breaks Windows update)
...but I've got an error with my system after I cleaned my case, nudged a drive connector or something and triggered a windows system recovery. Now some services are out of wack. New drives (confirmed healthy) are not detected as well as drivers
for a plethora of hardware will not install, all confirmed to install fine on the Parrallel Win 7 install on one of the undetected drives. Ah, yes, the error at first was a boot fail and I installed windows onto a non-system partition. Nontheless I got the riad drive plugged in and my original install recovered and booted. I changed the boot drive to my raid partition (bootloader for the SSD install is on there).
If something comes to mind, post, but otherwise I'll just rename my users' folder, boot from a CD OS, rename windows and reinstall.
