    Need driver for my CD

I upgraded to W7 from Vista, and after that my Acer PC does not recognize any CD Rom. It is not shown in the Windows Explorer. Messages I get indicates lack of an appropriate driver. With Vista it worked OK.
Anybody know where I can find a driver?
    Thanks.

Assuming it's an Acer desktop, what is the model?

Is it either an AcerPower, Aspire, easyStore, Extensa, or Veriton (Product Line)?
and I need the Product Model (example Aspire 6600).

Ohh ok now that's a little better, i actually logged off, but returned so i may help you before i go.
Can you please reconfirm the model again? 5800T?
Are you sure because there's no such model, only model I found closest is a 5810T.

    Acer Aspire Notebook 5810T?

Also, can you fill in your system specs as much as possible, it helps more than you can imagine.
    You're running Windows 7 x32bit? what edition? home basic/home premium/professional/or ultimate?

There are NO 3rd party drivers for CD or DVD drives (of any type) in Windows. Just the Default Built in Microsoft drivers.

Check the Device Manager and see what error message it has showing (if it is showing an error). If there is no error shown, Right click on the entry for the drive then Left click on Uninstall. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it should detect and reinstall the drive. This fixes a lot of flakey problems and MAY take care of yours.

I upgraded my Acer (7720) laptop from Vista 32 bit to Win 7 32 bit and didn't have any problems.

All i found even remotely close to his issue is an Optical drive PM Application for this notebook, not even sure if it's the right model yet?

Your correct on that one for sure....i don't know yet what his issue is regarding the CD ROM drive....it would be nice to get the model number reconfirmed by him and still no response....I'm leaving....I've been more than patient with this person.
