Quickcam Pro 4000 works with the Win 7 native driver, however, the Quickcam software (10.5.1) will not install and completely killed Win 7 at one point forcing me into a re-install of the OS. I contacted Logitech support to enquire about drivers for Win 7 and the response I got was:
Dear Mr.Saeed,
Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Technical Support.
I understand that you would like to know if the Quickcam drivers will updated for Windows 7.
I would like to let you know that Windows 7 is not officially supported at the moment. This is because the Windows 7 operating system has not been officially released to the public by Microsoft. It is still in the Release Candidate stage and not the final retail version. Our current drivers/software has been tested and certified for use with Windows Vista or older operating systems.
Windows 7 compatible drivers/software will be made available in the future. I apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please check our website regularly for any updates on this.
If you have any additional questions or comments regarding your product, please feel free to visit our website at http://www.logitech.com and update this incident.
Thank you for choosing Logitech. Have a nice day!
Kind Regards,
Logitech Europe SA
