Hello,

That appears to be a .exe file, likely the BIOS itself. Only run that file on the machine whose BIOS you are trying to update.

The latest BIOS for that machine is dated 3/28/2006 so I wouldn't recommend installing it unless you need it. Be aware, that machine does not even list Vista as a supported OS.

Plus ... all to often, .exe's from RS contain malware of various kinds.

If this was really just a zipped file, it would have an extension of .rar or .zip.

And finally, be aware that if this really IS a BIOS file and it is at all incompatible with your PC, you will end up with an electric "brick".

to go along with the above posts. You should really only update your bios if first you know exactly how and secondly if the bios your updating to lists a fix for a problem your experiencing. Fabe

If you're absolutely set on trying to flash your bios, you can unzip it yourself using 7zip, but as the with the posts above, I wouldn't try it unless you have non functional hardware or problems with windows 7.. and chances are, if the bios update is from 4 years ago, it won't even run unless you downgrade to xp first.
