Am I Doomed? Sharp VL-NZ105 Camcorder

Sharp Video MiniDV Camcorder Model VL-NZ105.

"Device drive software was not successfully installed".

"Unidentifed Device".

It appears that Sharp does not manufacture camcorders anymore.

Other than using this with an XP computer:

So am I doomed with this Sharp Camcorder for Windows 7 and Vista?

This is what I get from Sharp.

"Thank you for contacting Sharp Electronics Corporation."

"Unfortunately the driver is compatible up to Windows XP."

So, is that the end of the story? Am I doomed?

No, but the camera is!
You are still up and kicking. Now go have a great day.

Well I meant colloquially.

The camera still operates perfectly.

So basically, the best I can do is to dig up my old XP computer? Is that the final answer?

Hey, and thanks for responding.

Can't you take the SD card out and read that into your system?

This Sharp is a neat camcorder. Looks different from most of that era and today.

It does take still digital pictures on an SD card but the video is MiniDV.

But that does raise a good point.

Could I pick up a cheap or even borrow some other MiniDV camcorder and put the tape inside that?
