Bluegears B-Enspirer *& other CMI 8788 cards

FYI ... although I've been able to get my Bluegears B-Enspirer audio card to work just fine under 32-bit, including the bundled sound apps, it simply won't work at all under 64-bit, in fact, doesn't even detect that the card is connected.

Word back from Bluegears is that the chip has been discontinued and there will be no new drivers.

But, was able to find out that what really happened is that ASUS bought the rights to the chip from C-Media for their Xonar cards, and everyone else stopped supporting it.

So, if you have this card and want to experiment in 64-bit mode (or even, in 32-bit), yoj could try loading ASUS Xonar drivers. I've read they changed them for the hardware but they still might work to some degree.
