Need driver for PDS/Aopen XC Cube Audio ?? folks
anyone know about this model PDS or Aopen 'XCCube' model EZ915-M? apparently the maker can't keep their notes straight so they have a "Realtek high definition audio" driver for Vistax86, but when you run it, it says "device not found"... i.e. its not the right driver for the IC.
I'm stumped for the moment. not at all sure what part is actually on the MB.

you can try one of the HD audio drivers from the realtek site, but if your sound is working with the generic driver that came with the windows 7 installation, just stick with it. | My System Specs | | |

yeah I am trying that now. Windows 7 could not load anything, so no worky
update: failed. dunno why. The Windows 7 troubleshooting loop at least has some diff messages this time, going through a bunch of checks & stuff to no avail.
I have the similar issue with video: video works ok, looks ok, but its generic and gets a !bang in device manager.
sure wish i had one good set of specs that tells me for sure what these devices really are

hey, I noticed something I have not seen before on Windows 7. If I go to Device Manager, with the Windows 7-supplied High Def Audio driver installed, it shows the device "working properly", i.e. no more bangs. HOwever its not true: If I go to the control panel and lookup the Audio Device, it shows "No Device Installed".
is that "normal"? in other words it has a driver unattached to any hardware, but considers the registry of the driver to be "working properly" ??? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DC7600, HP DC7600[2], HP DC7100, Samsung NC10 OS Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Windows XP Home SP3 CPU Pentium 4 3.2GHz, Pentium 4 3.4GHz 64bit, Atom, Motherboard Dunno Memory 4GB matched, 1GB, 2.5GB, 4.0 GB Graphics Card Geforce 8400 GS and others Sound Card RealteK ALC260 and others Monitor(s) Displays Asus HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Cooling We Be Cool Hard Drives WD Caviar 640gb SATA |
