Mediamonkey Skin kicking my video driver's butt

So, I installed a skin called Noir in the newest Mediamonkey beta version. Every time I start up MM, my Nvidia display driver crashes four or five times, and even caused a blue screen yesterday. I have tried other drivers including the Win7 WDDM 1.1 drivers, 185.50 Vista 64 and 185.81 Vista 64.

It seems ridiculous to me that something as small as an MM skin would beat up on Nvidia's drivers so badly. Any ideas?

I'm currently running the 185.81 drivers with my 9800 GT OC.

    Hello Brian,

If you do not mind losing the new skin and just uninstalling it does not help, then you might see if doing a System Restore using a restore point dated before you installed the skin may be able to fix the problem.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks Shawn, I went ahead and just decided to scrap the skin, and now it works fine.

It's just amazing to me that I can play games like World In Conflict and Bioshock in DX10 with no problems, but a freakin' MM skin causes the driver to panic.

Maybe one day they will get the bugs worked out of it for you.

May be an idea to post in the skinning forum of MediaMonkey for this one, when I read your post I thought no way. Installed the skin, boy was I surprised when I activated. Nvidia spat the dummy big time.

The newest Nvidia beta drivers (186.05 I think) take care of this issue.

I'm happy to hear that it seems to have sorted your problem. Thank you for posting back with your solution. :)
